Routine, but Vital | Wisdom of Ants

For the last year or so, I’ve been deep diving into Proverbs. One verse a day. Which might sound like a quick 5-minute devotional, but each verse holds SO much wisdom. I find myself blessedly lost in the truths, promises, and the everlasting goodness of God. With you, the Wolfe Stew community, we’ve been following the ant trail by picking up morsels of wisdom related to ants inspired by Proverbs 6:6-8: Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. June 2021 | Ideas for Every Day

(Updated 4/22/22.) Do you remember where you were and what you were doing a year ago today? It’s crazy how far we’ve come in a year. Sadly, I heard a minister say the seeds planted in 2020 are bearing fruit in 2021 and it’s not all good. Many of us are depressed. Anxiety is sky rocketing. In short, we’re still struggling. Take care of those around you. Seek the good in others as you continually remind yourself of the gift you are. We need to stay positive. We must lift each other up. Together, we can; alone we suffer.     While Calvin may get the last word, you’ll get the last laugh. This book brings you to unexpected places in memorable ways. An engaging involvement in word collection woven into a relatable story. After reading, you’re likely to start thinking of the words you use in a different way. As always, I’ll alert you to potential spoilers with asterisks surrounding the header.   Target Audience Leaders of learners looking to excite vocabulary interest and for anyone who is part of a family.  Wolfe Stew believes this book is a great read aloud option for ages 6 to 8 with independent reading encouraged for 8-10 . Calvin Gets the Last Word  (as of May 5, 2021) does not yet have a Lexile or AR Level . The author’s (Margo Sorenson) website lists it suited for ages 4-9 . (Updated 4/20/2022.) It’s almost May! How is your April going so far? I have some yardwork out there that’s calling my name that I keep ignoring. What are your feelings on yardwork? Do you love it or hate it? May’s the month in school where kids literally taste the end coming. The scent in the air changes, energy levels rise, and teachers turn to their ultra-fun, secret lesson plans to keep them going. What is your favorite end of year activity?
